We’re incredibly sad to hear of Dr. Tharp’s passing.
I believe Van’s books on trading and trading psychology rank among the best trading books ever written. They are immensely valuable for traders, both novice and experienced, and have shaped the way we manage our own portfolios today. His magnificent work, his books, and his courses will be remembered and live on forever.
As trend following traders, we understand R, ATRs, and risk units, and the key role risk-based position sizing plays for any successful trading approach. Van has produced by far the best explanation of these concepts in his books “Trade Your Way to Financial Freedom” and “The Definitive Guide to Position Sizing.” Both books have a special place on my bookshelf.
